Day of Silence

On Sunday October 28, we transition to wintertime. We turn back the clock one hour. Or better: we stay still for one hour as time slowly synchronises with nature. What a beautiful invitation to be in silence and afterwards reflect together on how we relate to time.

More details to follow. Organised by Waerbeke and partners.

Brussels in Dialogue 2017

During the week of Brussels in Dialogue you can take a seat at one of the dozens of dialogue tables that are set up all across Brussels. In a group of 6-10 people, you can share experiences and thoughts relating to a central theme. A trained dialogue facilitator breaks the ice and ensures that the conversation runs smoothly. Getting to know one another, exchanging experiences, sharing dreams and thinking about concrete actions are the aims of the dialogue. Thus, Brussels in Dialogue wants to stimulate active citizenship and meetings between a wide variety of people.

Who can take part?
Brussels in Dialogue is for everyone. Young or old, man or woman, manual labourer or executive, monolingual or polyglot, born Bruxellois, new Belgian or accidental passer-by, ... Everyone is welcome at the dialogue table. Brussels in Dialogue is all about unexpected encounters and the enriching and inspiring experiences that flow from them.
Famous faces such as Herman Van Rompuy (European president), Erhan Demirci (stand-up comedian), Daan (singer) and Pascal Duquenne (actor) support Brussels in Dialogue. Meet our ambassadors.

Where and when?
The fourth edition of Brussels in Dialogue will be organized between 19 and 21 October 2016.

Open Circle - We Have The Choice - Molenbeek

A Circle gathering starts with a moment of silence. From that place we share what we want about our experience... each one of us in their own way: by saying something, by listening, with music, an image...

Being present is enough, everybody can speak but doesn't have to. A circle lasts max. 1,5 hours and is facilitated by 2 experienced facilitators. Everyone can speak their own language.

This Circle will take place after the book presentation of 'Jihad van de Liefde' (Jihad of Love) by Mohammed El Bachiri (19:00) and just before the Iftar (21:55), followed by a Soufi Concert by Jossour Assalam.

Hosts: Kristin Verellen & Fatima Zibouh. Facilitation of the Circle: Stien Michiels & Ingrid Wolfs. More information on the website of the Vaartkapoen.
